...which do you like better?
I like sunset better because I can hear so much more natural sounds as the western sky explodes into predusk fireworks.
How about y'all?

I like the morning sun rise it isn't as colorful but I get up before everyine else and feed the critters and have an hour or two completely alone and unrushed before the day gets started, you know have a cup of coffee and read the paper then feed it to the worms, that kind of stuff, its just so peaceful in the early morning. morning, evening and around the clock, our old oak tree which was incorporated into the deck is bombing us with huge acorns. The cats are certain the sky is falling and I have placed their dishes under the patio table and chairs so their noggins can get a break from the bops. In July, the tree shed some buttons and I thought the hot, dry weather had ruined the acorn crop. It must have been doing a self-thinning. The acorns are huge...pecan size. They land with a loud crack, then roll, bounce and bop down the steps. Racket all day and all night! We have to sweep them away and are still walking on them! The formers owners thought the tree is about 110 yrs old. I don't know how he figured this. The leaves are the many fingered style that we like and encourage the babies. Last year's smaller acorns were quite fertile, but so was the other leaf design that's not quite as complicated.

Its at least 50 years old if what I have read is correct.
Oaks produce acorns at about 50 years of age.
I harvested acorns from my white oak here this season to make seed propagations from.
I plan to try to sell potted oaks and maybe brace grow some into sapling walking sticks
