...when reading our message threads. Currently we are using this board as a free hosted site. Since "theres never anything for free", our board here is subsidized by ad sense advertisers who pay to put advertisements in the banner directly under our board title. Our main directory page generally has banners for commercial worm farms, which is logical for a vermiculture forum. My chuckles come from the banners that show on some of the threads based on keywords google scans while placing the banner. the thread for hyperlinks shows sewing sites and a thread on worm bedding bannered an ad for a mattress warehouse. The funniest so far was the thread asking questions about worm clitellum. The banner with it had ad links to female 'plumbing" health and hygiene sites I just thought it was funny how the ads key to thread content. Since proboards does filter against porn, I don't think any banners will take us into seedy parts of the web. While reading our material here, check some of the banner advertisers you find of interest also if you like. It may give you something of use and the clicks helps proboards cover overhead so we can be here for free. Plus the banners are less irritating than the commercials used to pay for our TV viewing

LOL, I just saw an Ad that was advertising a "Worm Killer" speaking of internet viruses. I never thought that the content of the board would change to ads but I guess so. Learn something new everyday. BTW I will click on the ads here and there to help keep the board free of charge. Jimmy -

Jimmy, Glad you check the banners also. An occasional banner ad click does help support the site and often you will find sites of interest. As long as we all have our firewall, antivirus and adaware removal programs, unknown data mining can be controlled. Pine cone research only advertises on banner ads and if a person is lucky enough to see their ad and register, the pine cone folks will ask you to fill in market surveys every month or so. The survey takes only about 10 to 20 minutes to complete and the Pine cone folks send you $5 for doing the survey. A friends wife showed me her pine cone survey and check letter. I been keeping my eyes peel for that ad in banners on the sites I visit ever since
