The tote itself was laying in the right hand lane of the interstate. What was left of the lid was scattered all over the highway. The trooper who showed up while I was in the breakdown lane getting it out of traffic told me that he was was coming back to get it out of the way when I had pulled over to pull it out of traffic.
After clarifying that the tote did not belong to me and I was just pulling it into the breakdown lane to remove accident risks to others , he told me it was technically litter, but the tote itself wasn't in too bad a shape and if I wanted the tote I could take it on if I didnt mind taking the pieces of the lid he swept up to prevent tire damage.
I was only getting it out of the roadway, but when he offered it to me for hauling off the trashed lid, I accepted it and put it in my SUV.
I dont use lids on my worm bins anyway so even with a little road rash on it , that 20 gallon wheel tote should make a nice one ;D
