Has anybody tried converting an IV system into an auto-waterer? You would need to replace the saline in the bag with regular water but I would think that you could set it up and just monitor the level of water remaining. Maybe even daisy-chain the bags? Or replace the bags alltogether with a larger container, I am thinking a 3 liter bottle or larger.

I have used my aqurium pump driven aeration system to water my bins on occasion.
I found that the air pumps and end sealed aquarium line with two feet of pin holes for aeration were causing vibrations at the end of the hose buried in the bedding that triggered migrations just as fiddling a sweetgum stake migrates worms to the surface.
To reduce air line vibrations I made water baffles that work like blowing through a water pipe to dampen line vibrations by bubbling the air in a sealed 3 liter bottle between the pump and the air outlet at the bin.
One day I turned the hanging water baffle bottle upside down and saw that the air pump pushed the 3 liters of water through the line. I now use the water baffles to both aerate and water bins , depending if it is hanging upright or inverted.
I hang my water baffles and air pumps from hooks with the pump higher than the water baffle to prevent backflow into the air pump.
I will try to scan my drawings to a jpeg file and post a link later today.
