I use a blender to process the worm food. I have burned up a few blenders so for. I usually just process banana peel precut to about 1 inch square egg shells cucumber peelings and such. I do add water. What can I do to help from burning up the blenders?

When I first started feeding slurry mix, I used blenders also, but as the volume of my bins increased, the blenders started burning up on me also.
My solution was to build pre-digester buckets with vent lines into 2 liter bottle air locks. The lines from the the bottle tops, I currently vent into the nearest flower bed.
The anaerobic predigestion in the sealed lid 5 gallon buckets turns the feed mix into the equivalent of septic tank sludge suitable for feeding to the worm beds and the methane/ cO2 gas mix is filtered by the plants in the window box.
I have also found that the predigester buckets can be planted in my bins in cold weather to provide anaerobically generated heat while the bin bedding provides bucket insulation during our zone 7 winters.

I still use a gallon sized blender in the kitchen as a small volume slop jar, but when the wastes are at a half gallon, I add a half gallon of water and pulse it down to add to the digesters.
