Is there any advantage in a 100% cardboard bedding? I read somewhere that E.F.'s grew larger and reproduced more in straight cardboard.

Cardboard is great the worms love it. I feed it by the truckload good carbon source. It is a little tougher to keep wet in a small bin but in my trenches it works fine. I dont think they breed any better. I gues s you could set up 2 bins and see!

I have it mixed about 50/50 with newspaper. I will stick with that for now.

courgated cardboard with one side of the backing paper removed makes a comfortable cocoon depository as the worms will use the rough surface to assist in slipping the fertilized cocoon collar off.

I use a 4" cube of honeycombed construction cardboard. They seem to like crawling through to holes. I will try and post a picture tomorrow.
