If you elect to establish outdoor windrow beds to raise worms in and live in USDA hardness dones 7B to 8, be aware that armadillo can hear worms at a depth of 4 to 5 inches and can dig down into the worm rich area within a couple minutes.
This was told by animal expert Jack Hanna on the Letterman show tonite. I would think possums would probably be capable of hunting worms in this fashion also.

Well good thing we don't have those critters up here. Well mybe possums but i have never seen one as yet. Weasels but i like them they kill all the mice and stuff. quite tame really last year it kept coming right up to me. I just got into my inground windrows today and the worms are great. Great big egg bands and plump. I was so impressed. That takes them back into January and it was -30 then. It still is freezing on some nites here. tomorrow im looking at my above ground windrows and see how they survived will take some pictures and post them
